Camp Expedition is back at Camp Arroyo Grande!

Camp Expedition is back at Camp Arroyo Grande! It is a beautiful area located just up the road from downtown AG. We are excited to enjoy pool time, various camp activities, and some summer days together along with our awesome and energetic staff. We hope your child will join us this year for a true outdoor camp experience. This is an amazing setting where your kid can be a kid!

Mission:

Camp Expedition provides a unique, fun, summer-day-camp experience for children, rich with social opportunities and with an emphasis on nurturing each child’s own gifts and talents.

Camp Expedition pledges to:

• Provide the opportunity to simply “be a kid” for a week or two, without fear of judgment, and where every effort is met with praise and celebration.
• Value each camper’s individual strengths, talents, and special interests. All campers learn to value each other and to respect the inherent gifts of every person.
• Strengthen the social interactions of those on the autism spectrum through quality relationships and meaningful participation.
• Strengthen the social interactions of those not on the autism spectrum through peer mentoring training and the nurturing of empathy and compassion.
• Provide opportunities to bring together families who face challenges of autism and related developmental disorders.

Camp Goals:

Camp Expedition promotes the creation of social and recreational programs designed to meet the unique needs of individuals with autism, while also meeting the needs of their typically developing peers, and integrating these in a fun, summer day camp environment. Many of the children served by Camp Expedition have never had a summer camp opportunity, and by serving families that are underserved either because of financial situations, or the quality and expertise of staff and volunteers that is necessary to meet their child’s needs (or both), Camp Expedition provides respite for the parents and an exciting opportunity for the kids.

Camp Expedition Dates:

We will be offering two sessions of Camp Expedition in 2018:

Session 1:

June 18th - June 22nd, 2018.

Session 2:

June 25th - June 29th, 2018.

You can sign up for Session 1, Session 2, or BOTH Sessions.

Camp hours are from 9 am – 3 pm, daily (Monday through Friday).

Camp Expedition Registration:

Participation in Camp Expedition is $200 per session for each camper. This fee is inclusive for all the activities and programs at each camp session.

The actual cost per camper is over $700 for each session. The majority of our camp costs are subsidized by our wonderful donors, and events like the WALK for Autism. Please consider donating to Central Coast Autism Spectrum Center to help us continue to provide excellent programs like Camp Expedition.

Camp Expedition Scholarships:

A limited number of scholarships for Camp Expedition are available. Those whom recieve a scholarship will have their camper fees reduced to $100 per camper per session. For scholarship consideration one must purchase the $100.00 scholarship registration, to reserve a space, and fillout the scholarship application provided at the time of registration. To apply for a scholarship please click on the 'Register for Camp Expedition' button below.

Central Coast Autism Spectrum Center will inform applicants within two weeks if their scholarship application was accepted. If eligible for a scholarship, the applicant will be registered and notified. If the applicant is not eligible, they will need to pay the balance of $100 per camper per session within two weeks. If payment is not recieved within two weeks, the applicants money will be refunded, minus a $25 processing fee.
